I did my undergrad at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo (yes, it’s real–and no, no gal there). Then I hit the road for years doing only the finest regional and repertory theatre, children’s theatre tours and various other entertainment enterprises and debacles, being paid nearly minimum wage to swing swords and kiss pretty girls. I also got to wear polyester costumes in almost every state of the Union, so, I’ve got that going for me.
In 2010 I completed my M.F.A. at Queens University of Charlotte with a weird and wonderful bunch of writers. By day, I herd scientists at Virginia Tech and on nights the Red Wings don’t play I write fiction.
